Four Courses for $35 – March 13 to 18
“In Spring a young man’s fancy turns to….” Well, in South Jersey, that would be … Restaurant Week!
This is the time of the year that the “fancy” of many South Jersey adults, both men and women, is having a great dinner at a great price.
There are 42 independently owned and operated SJ Hot Chefs restaurants participating in one of the most popular events in South Jersey.
Starting on Sunday, March 13 and running through Saturday, March 18, special, pre-selected four-course menus will be offered for a tab of $35 in participating restaurants in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties.
Spring Restaurant Week is presented by 1st Colonial Community Bank and sponsored by the Hughes Center. We are grateful to our business neighbors for their encouragement and support.
SJ Hot Chefs member restaurants represent virtually every imaginable cuisine so this event represents a great opportunity to expand your dining routine and experience new taste sensations.
You can take an international culinary trip from American and New American to Italian to Greek to Indian to Chinese to Mexican. You can experiment with BBQ or seek a Steak House experience. You can do all that within minutes of your home—and no passport is required!
Spring Restaurant Week is the perfect time to organize a group of friends and neighbors to enjoy a night out with great food and lively conversation. In fact, with this low prix fixe, several nights out might be a contemplated.
Consider all the interesting choices: fresh seafood … aged steak … hot tamales … finger food or sushi … a virtually endless list of choices. And, you can decide on restaurants with bar service or BYOB. Whatever your preferences, you can find them at nearby SJ Hot Chefs establishments.
And Spring Restaurant Week is the perfect time—March 13 to March 18.
Another advantage of SJ Hot Chef restaurants is that we specialize in serving local food. We buy fruits and vegetables from nearby farmers. We purchase seafood from fisheries that are less than 50 miles away so you know the seafood in season is freshly caught. Our restaurants that serve wine are sure to include local vintages.
Many of our patrons appreciate the fact that our menus include so many local foods. We are, after all, in the Garden State so we take advantage of the cornucopia of regional foods available to us.
And some of our chefs love to put a creative spin on our local bounty for this special week, like Chef Saul Cordova at La Esperanza Mexican Restaurant & Bar, 40 E. Gibbsboro Rd., Lindenwold. Here’s what Chef Cordova says about his approach to Spring Restaurant Week:
“The general theme of our menu —especially during Spring Restaurant Week—is to be different. We create a unique menu so that our customers can experience dishes they haven’t tried before. We incorporate traditional dishes and add a twist or something a little extra to make the meal even more interesting.
“For example, one of our dishes is “Huazontles Rellenos.” Huazontles are also known as Red Aztec Spinach, which actually looks like broccoli. It has quite a different taste and is very traditional in Mexico. We also make it gluten free by using corn instead of flour when we are adding the egg batter. We then pan fry them and top with a red sauce and melted oaxaca cheese.
“Doing restaurant week is always fun and we are able to try a few new things and see how our customers like them. Mexican cuisine is quite diverse and we are excited to bring some of our less known dishes to our diners. Spring Restaurant Week allows us to do what we love and that is to showcase our food and culture.”
And the SJ Hot Chefs—plus all our kitchen and wait staffs—appreciate the fact that our customers are supporting their local communities that include area farmers, other South Jersey food producers, as well as their neighborhood, locally owned restaurants.
Spring Restaurant Week is a good time to break the chain restaurant and fast food habit. Spring Restaurant Week is the time to enjoy locally created and prepared foods that will reward your palate. Local food is both delicious and nutritious because it is fresh.
Put Spring Restaurant Week—March 13 to 18— on your calendar. Even better, make your reservations now to ensure you don’t miss this opportunity to experience the creativity and culinary skills of your nearby SJ Hot Chefs.
We look forward to serving you during Spring Restaurant Week—and many days after.
